Since we are practically now in full swing summer dressing its time to talk about summer suiting. While stores typically start to bring in their Spring/Summer stock as early as January 1st, they bring in the Fall/Winter as early as August 1st. With the invitations to yachts in Sardinia, and sea-side castles in Croatia arriving already, you need to plan ahead since you won't be able to make last minute purchases.
I think you really need 3 choices.. A 1 button option for those more dressing events, as well as your standard 2 buttons and double breasted versions. Double breasted summer blazers are great for that sea-faring nautical look but also show you have more sense about your style than the average Joe shopping on the hightstreet.
For some great options you should check out www.thecorner.com in their coats and jackets section they have everything from Margiela to Isaia. There are great options form Marc Jacobs mainline and even Neil Barrett, heaven forbid I say so. But truly time is of the essence as you do not want to find yourself needing something in August to find only wools and leathers available at your favorite shopping outlets. Never forego any of the typical traits of tailoring when purchasing summer garments. The cuff should still fall right at the break of your wrist, I still suggest 2 vents is better than one, and never ever do up both buttons on a 2 button blazer. Just the top one. For added flare a pocket square or a button-hole adornment is also a nice touch.
Hopefully this gets you set on your way to a summer wardrobe worthy of a weekend in Napa or a trip to South Beach just don't forget to snap your look and upload to your portfolio for all to enjoy and comment on CHECKYOUdaily.
